Part Time Kennel Assistant

We are hiring a kennel assistant at Sage Country Veterinary Service. This a part time position including working Friday afternoons, Saturday morning, noon and evening, and Sunday morning, noon and evening. A kennel assistant primarily takes care of boarding pets, which includes feeding and walking dogs and cleaning dog indoor/outdoor kennels (in all weathers), feed and cleaning cat kennels and face to face client interactions. But also includes bathing of pets, nail trims, janitorial duties and computer skills. Needs to work well independently or with others, must be self-motivated, must be a self-starter, punctual, be patient with animals, and have an attitude of learning. This is a minimum wage position, all applicants may be subject to drug testing and background checks. Temporary Veterinarian

DEPARTMENT: Veterinary Medicine

We are a mixed animal practice, serving an agricultural community from our small animal mobile clinic and farm call pick up.

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

This is a full time, temporary six month contract Veterinarian position, in a mixed animal practice. Looking for a motivated, independent, highly skilled individual, looking to promote animal healthcare in a rural/frontier agricultural community. Emphasis on high quality, evidence- based veterinary medicine.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES

Provide veterinary services to patients including emergency and on call services for clients outside of regular work hours.

MINOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Some supervision of veterinary assistants

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE JOB

Education: DVM

Experience: small animal specialty, large animal specialty, mixed animal specialty

Other: Unencumbered Oregon DVM License

KEY COMPETENCIES

strong interpersonal communication skills, computer skills (including medical records),  personal and professional integrity

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to stand, sit or walk for extended periods of time, lift up to 50lbs, bend, and stoop 1repeatedly throughout workday.
